The German Legal Tech Hub (GLTH) will receive funding as an innovation network for the next three years from the State of Lower Saxony, using European Union funds. Hannover, 30 July 2026 – The German Legal Tech Hub (GLTH) will receive funding as an innovation network for the next three years from the State of Lower Saxony, using European Union funds. The support is intended to further drive the expansion of a nationwide network for legal tech and legal AI, and to strengthen Lower Saxony's position as a hub for innovation in the digital transformation of law.
The legal market is undergoing profound change. Artificial intelligence, automation and digital technologies are permanently transforming the way law firms, legal departments, courts, authorities and legal tech companies work. The German Legal Tech Hub aims to actively support this development and connect the relevant players from practice, academia, business, public administration and the start-up scene.
The focus is on knowledge transfer, sharing best practice, fostering innovation and supporting organisations in adopting and using digital technologies. Through events such as the Roadshows and the German Legal Tech Summit, training offerings, matchmaking formats and a year-round content and community platform, the Hub creates spaces for collaboration and the practical application of Legal Tech.
The funding makes it possible to further expand existing offerings and develop new formats. The aim is to bring innovations into practice more quickly, intensify knowledge transfer between the various players, and support the long-term digital transformation of the legal sector. "This funding is a significant milestone for us and, at the same time, a strong signal for the future of legal tech in Germany.
It confirms the need for an independent platform that brings people, ideas and innovations together and fosters exchange across organisational boundaries,” says Dr Benedikt Epe Quarch, Co-Director of the German Legal Tech Hub. The German Legal Tech Hub sees itself as a nationwide innovation network based in Hannover. Lower Saxony forms the organisational hub, while the offering is aimed at the entire German legal tech community.
Regional roadshows, nationwide events, digital formats and strategic partnerships are designed to build a sustainable ecosystem that accelerates innovation in the legal market and strengthens dialogue between all relevant stakeholders. Special thanks go to our funding partners and everyone who has supported and accompanied the development of the network. Particular mention should be made of the close collaboration with Hannoverimpuls and Georg Leuteritz, who have made a significant contribution to the development and implementation of the funding project.
