CPD obligationWhat § 15 FAO requires

Anyone holding the title of specialist lawyer must undertake training in their specialist field every calendar year – at least 15 hours per field. Up to five of these hours may be completed through self-study, provided a learning assessment is carried out.

For online events, interaction with speakers and among participants must be possible, and continuous attendance must be verifiable. You submit the proof to your bar association without being asked.

AI competence under Art. 4 AI Act

One building block towards the obligation to achieve AI competence.

Since February 2025, organisations that use AI have been required to take measures to ensure their staff’s AI literacy. The Regulation does not require a specific certificate; the measures should fit the tasks and context of use and be documented. Academy courses and certificates of attendance can form part of this – complemented by the organisation’s own rules and in-house training.

When are new course dates available?

The 2027 course programme is being prepared; we will publish dates and registration details as soon as they are confirmed. Until then, the German Legal Tech Summit and our online formats offer opportunities for further training.
